Babymoon in Mallorca: yoga and rest during pregnancy
A babymoon is a short trip for two before the baby arrives. Mallorca works well for it: short distances, quiet coves, fincas in the countryside and plenty of space to breathe. Here is what to think about when you plan and how a private prenatal yoga session fits into your days.
What makes a good babymoon?
Less programme, more time. During pregnancy your energy can change from day to day. Plan a calm setting with room for spontaneous breaks rather than a full list of trips. A place where you both feel at home matters more than any sight.
What to check before you travel
- With your doctor or midwife: whether the trip and movement such as yoga are right for you at your stage.
- With your airline: every airline has its own rules for flying while pregnant. Ask before you book which certificate you need.
- With your health insurance: how you are covered abroad and what applies in an emergency.
- Your maternity notes belong in your hand luggage.
How does yoga fit into a babymoon?
A private prenatal yoga session is a gentle moment to arrive in this special time. The practice is calm and mindful and adapted to your stage of pregnancy and your needs. You do not need any yoga experience.
I come to you at your holiday flat, hotel or finca and bring the yoga mats. Your partner is welcome to join in or simply be there. I teach in English and German.
Important: prenatal yoga is not medical treatment and does not replace advice from your doctor or midwife. Please tell me before the session which week you are in and whether there is anything I should know.
Babymoon with friends: the baby shower
If you are on the island with friends or family rather than as a couple, the session can also be part of a baby shower. Then it becomes a calm moment together with the mum to be at the centre.
